Ather Energy Pvt. Ltd. is an Indian electric vehicle company founded by Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in 2013. It manufactures the electric scooter Ather 450X and the Ather 450 Plus. It has also established electric vehicle charging infrastructure Ather Grid.

450 Apex

Ather 450 Apex is quicker and more intelligent than its predecessor Ather 450 Apex and comes in four new colours: Black, Grey, Green and White. The scooter is powered with a 7.0 kW PMSM motor, a new 3.7 kWh lithium ion battery and comes with 5 riding modes - SmartEco, Eco, Ride and Sport and Warp. Ather 450 Apex can go from 0 to 40 kmph in just 2.9 sec in the Warp mode. The new battery has enabled a projected Indian Drive Cycle (IDC) range of 130 km and a real life range of 157 km in city conditions. Ather 450 Apex top speed 100 Km/h. Ather 450 Apex charges 50% faster than before at 1.5 km per minute. Ather 450 Apex has a 4G sim card and Wifi along with Bluetooth connectivity and the new 7” touchscreen dashboard, comes with a color depth of 16M and a Snapdragon Quad Core processor. Ather 450 Apex utilises Android Open Source to offer map navigation, On-board diagnostics and features like Over-the-air updates, Auto Indicator off and Guide-me-home lights. The Ather mobile app offers personalised ride statistics, charging status, push navigation and more functionalities like theft & tow detection, live location & vehicle state tracking, voice assistant and welcome lights. Ather 450 Apex supports connected accessories like smart helmets and tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS). The scooter is available in Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Mysore, Hubli, Jaipur and Hyderabad. and will be available in 16 more Indian cities in 2025.

Ather 450 X

In September 2020, Ather Energy unveiled the collector’s edition of the Ather 450X, called Series 1. This limited-edition scooter was available only to those Ather Energy enthusiasts who pre-ordered the scooter before the national launch of the Ather 450X on January 28, 2020. The Ather 450X Series 1 has translucent panels in the rear, that offer a peek inside the scooter. Ather Energy’s distinct cast aluminum chassis is visible under the seat and the trellis frame. The Series 1 comes with a high-gloss metallic black body color combined with accents of red. These colors also feature on the 7” touchscreen dashboard of the Series 1 scooters, with a special intro screen and subtle hints of red in the UI designed for the scooters. Ather Energy started deliveries of its latest Ather 450X Series 1 from November 2020.

Ather 450 S

The Ather 450 S is constructed using an all-aluminium frame, comes with a 5.4 kW (7.2 BHP) Brushless DC electric motor, and a 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The scooter can accelerate to 40 km/h in 3.9 seconds, attain a top speed of 80 km/h, and can travel 110 km on one charge in city-riding conditions (122 km in the Indian driving cycle). Ather Energy also offers an upgraded version of Ather 450 S called the Ather 450 Plus which has a top speed of 70 kmph and a True Range of 110 km in Eco mode. The Ather 450 Plus offers 4G connectivity, onboard navigation, and other connected features but does not have Bluetooth connectivity and the Warp mode..

Ather Rizta

In April 2024, Ather Energy unveiled the collector’s edition of the Ather Rizta. This limited-edition scooter was available only to those Ather Energy enthusiasts who pre-ordered the scooter before the national launch of the Ather Rizta on April 6, 2024. The Ather Rizta has translucent panels in the rear, that offer a peek inside the scooter. Ather Energy’s distinct cast aluminum chassis is visible under the seat and the trellis frame. The Rizta comes with a high-gloss metallic black and white body color combined with accents of blue. These colors also feature on the 7” touchscreen dashboard of the rizta scooters, with a special intro screen and subtle hints of blue in the UI designed for the scooters. Ather Energy started deliveries of its latest Ather Rizta from August 2024.
